The Mission of the Center for Sex & Culture is to provide judgment-free education, cultural events, a library/media archive, and other resources to audiences across the sexual and gender spectrum; and to research and disseminate factual information, framing and informing issues of public policy and public health.

Femina Potens, which means “powerful woman” in Latin, is a community-building multidisciplinary arts space at Sanchez and Market Streets. Since 2003, Femina Potens has organized almost 450 performing, visual, literary, media arts, educational and public arts programs that have authentically explored the experiences of queer, women, transgender people and others living outside the female-male gender binary. Since moving to the Castro in mid- 2007, Femina Potens has established the first high-visibility arts space that has interwoven the arts into the fabric of neighborhood life.

We started in the Peninsula, finished up SF and Marin and now in the East Bay.  Our Peninsula edition is in distribution and our "coming out" for our SF/Marin Edition is going to be SF Pride on June 28th. The East Bay edition will be available in the Fall.
